KENDRA TRAN

Position: CO-AUTHOR

Over years of serving crime survivors and incarcerated individuals in the American criminal justice system, Kendra discovered her advocacy was most effective and rewarding when integrated by Yogacara principles. The profound transformations she witnessed in her clients inspired her to examine the connection between mental and physical health, and she strives to improve access to mindfulness practices, particularly within underrepresented communities.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Kendra volunteers at a Buddhist monastery, where she coordinates a meditation course. Her debut memoir chapter, “Unto Shore,” explores her mother’s illness as a reflection of trauma and presents the way she confronted this affliction in someone who saw trauma as a taboo subject.
